MAJURO – Today, the United States, in partnership with Taiwan, delivered a Cessna aircraft to the Republic of the Marshall Islands. This American-made aircraft will join Air Marshall Islands’ fleet, addressing an acute capacity need.
This aircraft delivery is a clear example of how partners can come together to support the Marshall Islands in a way that is practical, responsive, and sustainable. The cooperation between the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Taiwan, and the United States reflects a shared commitment—not just to deliver assistance, but to deliver outcomes.
A functioning aircraft can mean the difference between delay and action—faster delivery of relief, more reliable medical evacuation, and continuity of the services that families and communities depend on. It ensures that the government can reach its people—even when the ocean makes that difficult.
This improved local capability also serves our shared interests by strengthening regional stability and security. More reliable domestic aviation reduces disruption risks that impact economic prosperity and supports broader transportation needs tied to the workforce and logistics networks connected to U.S. facilities on Kwajalein Atoll. Resilient transportation also advances a free and open Indo-Pacific, which benefits us all.
That is what partnership looks like. Not just shared goals—but shared effort.
Not just commitments—but execution. And when that happens, results follow.
Powered by American innovation, this aircraft went from concept to delivery in a remarkably short period of time, demonstrating what is possible when partners like the United States, Taiwan, and the RMI work together.
That is a model worth building on.
