Enra week doesn’t disappoint – The Marshall Islands Journal

Majuro hospital was a ghost town on the first day that the Enra (universal basic income) quarterly payment went out last week Thursday.

How to tell that it is Enra week in Majuro? That’s an easy question to answer.

Just stop by the hospital the first two days of the quarterly money distribution and what do you see?

It’s really what you “don’t” see that is the point. A hospital with no patients: No people in the outpatient clinic, no one in dental, only a couple of people waiting for medicines at the pharmacy.

Essentially on Enra payday, the hospital is a ghost town.
