Owen Leuellen’s elimination has sparked strong reactions from the judges, with both Howard and Amber sharing emotional messages after the unexpected result.

Howard admitted the outcome caught him off guard, saying it was “very unexpected” to see someone he’s believed in since the very beginning receive the least public votes.

“Yesterday was tough. Seeing someone I’ve got to know so well the past 8 years… get the least votes from the public was very unexpected to say the least,” he said.

He also took aim at the disconnect between online praise and actual voting, noting how many people congratulated Owen after the result. “Everyone is now tapping on his shoulder telling him prosit… yet they seemed to forget to vote yesterday,” he wrote.

Howard added that he’s “never stopped believing in Owen and never will,” while also saying he’s begun taking social media “with a pinch of salt” due to what he described as a false representation of reality.

Meanwhile, fellow judge Amber and Owen’s mentor also praised his journey, calling him “one of a kind” and highlighting his dedication behind the scenes.

“Week after week he kept delivering enjoyment and exceptional performances… pushing himself and perfecting his craft,” she said, adding that after working with him closely, she believes he deserved a spot in the final.

Amber also admitted disappointment with the result, saying she didn’t think either Miguel or Owen should have been in the sing-off, but acknowledged that “in this competition anything can happen. We will definitely keep hearing from Owen. Get ready for new material from him ”
