Valletta has been featured by Times Travel as one of Europe’s top destinations for a quick weekend getaway.
In a feature focused on the best hotels in Valletta for 2026, Times Travel praised the Maltese capital’s architecture, food scene, boutique hotels and nearly year-round sunshine.
“The capital of Malta can’t be beat for a quick weekend getaway from the UK,” the publication wrote.
The article described Valletta as “eternally photogenic”, highlighting its golden baroque buildings, rooftop bars, alfresco restaurants and grid-like streets filled with historic charm.
Times Travel also pointed to the city’s evolving hospitality scene, including luxury stays and upcoming hotel openings such as the Romegas boutique hotel set inside a restored 16th-century palazzo.
Among the hotels featured were Iniala Harbour House, The Phoenicia Malta, Casa Ellul and The Embassy Valletta.
The feature also praised Valletta’s walkability and mix of historic atmosphere with modern hospitality experiences.
