Meanwhile, Aħwa Maltin said it is completely opposed to both abortion and euthanasia.

Imperium Europa also declared itself fully against abortion “in all circumstances”, but took a different stance on euthanasia.

The party said it had originally proposed assisted voluntary euthanasia two decades ago and remains in favour of it today.

“Imperium Europa remains in favour of assisted voluntary euthanasia to this day,” the party said in its reply.

The responses come as euthanasia continues to emerge as one of the more divisive social issues in the current electoral campaign, particularly after recent discussions around the possibility of a national referendum on the matter.
