Metsola, Casa And Agius Show Support For New PN Leader Alex Borg In Brussels

European Parliament President Roberta Metsola and MEPs David Casa and Peter Agius have publicly shown support for Alex Borg, following his election as leader of the Nationalist Party.

Speaking to NETnews from Strasbourg, the three MEPs described Borg’s victory as a chance for renewal within the PN and called on members to unite behind him.

Metsola praised the internal campaign, noting that it generated fresh debate and ideas within the party. “They had a campaign where they really created a discussion, they have a vision, and ideas that now we have to see how to actualise,” Metsola said. “All of us, as representatives of the Nationalist Party and activists within it, have to move so that the Nationalist Party wins the general election.”

Casa echoed this message of unity, stressing the importance of coming together after a hard-fought leadership contest. “Now everyone is behind Alex Borg. Everyone has to pull their weight, we have to come together. We already delivered the message that Adrian Delia and Alex Borg are already working together,” he said.

Agius, meanwhile, looked ahead to the challenges Malta is facing, linking Borg’s leadership to the need for economic renewal. “Now the time has come, which is also Alex’s slogan, for the next step, to put Malta on a path of sustainability and new growth. We want new growth,” he told reporters.

The statements from Metsola, Casa and Agius reflect a concerted effort by the PN’s top representatives in Brussels to project stability and momentum under Borg’s leadership. With his election, the party enters a new chapter, aiming to translate internal unity into a stronger message at the next general election.
