After tonight’s chaotic first challenge twist, the islanders unknowingly coupled themselves up based purely on first impressions and looks.

The first challenge of  Love Island Malta Season 4 had the boys and girls ranking each other from “most boyfriend or girlfriend material” to least, purely based on looks and first impressions.

But what none of the islanders realised was that the rankings weren’t just for fun…

As it turns out, they were actually choosing their couples the entire time.

Giselle later revealed that the islanders had unknowingly matched themselves together based on how they ranked each other and let’s just say the reactions inside the villa were priceless.

From shocked faces to awkward laughs, the first couples of the season are officially locked in.
