Food Safety Authority Warns Against Sichuan Peppers Containing Unauthorised Pesticide

The Food Safety and Security Authority warns the public to not consume a brand of Sichuan Pepper.

In line with Chapter 649 of the Food Safety and Security Authority Act, and in accordance with its responsibility to ensure transparency and raise public awareness on food safety and security matters, the Authority is informing the public of the following information received through the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF).

The alert indicates that the product in question must not be consumed due to the presence of an unauthorised pesticide, as well as other approved pesticides found to be above permitted levels.

Consumers are being advised not to consume the product and to either dispose of it or return it to the shop where it was purchased.
