PN Leader Alex Borg has said Gozo should be a place where young people can build a career, start a business and raise a family, rather than feeling they have to leave the island to succeed.
During a visit to his home island, Borg said Gozo has the talent and ambition to thrive, but needs policies that recognise its unique realities.
“As a Gozitan, I do not want Gozo to be a place young people have to leave in order to succeed,” he said. “We want it to be a place where they can build a career, a business and a family. Gozitans are not asking for special treatment, but for the right conditions to allow their talent, hard work and investment to succeed.”
Borg visited Casa Giuseppe, Customize Nation and Magro Brothers, saying each business showed what Gozo can achieve when people are given the opportunity to invest and grow.
He also stressed that “Gozo should not be regarded merely as a destination or an extension of Malta, but as a place where people can build a business, develop a career, raise a family and grow old with dignity.”
He argued that businesses need fair competition, reliable infrastructure, access to skilled workers and policies that support long-term investment, adding that strengthening local manufacturing and agriculture is also key to Gozo’s future.
Do you think enough is being done to create opportunities in Gozo?
