TWO men have died and another has been seriously injured after falling from a skylift during maintenance work at an apartment complex in Subang Jaya.
The incident, which occurred amid heavy rain, has raised concerns over workplace safety during adverse weather conditions.
Subang Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said the authorities were alerted to the incident through an emergency MERS 999 call at approximately 3.50pm.
Police officers from the Subang Jaya district headquarters were immediately dispatched to the scene.
“Initial checks found three men lying at the entrance of the apartment,” he said in a statement.
“Two of the victims were confirmed dead at the scene, while another was taken to Hospital Serdang for treatment after suffering injuries to the head and chest,” he added.
According to Wan Azlan, both deceased victims sustained severe injuries. Preliminary investigations indicate that the incident occurred while all three men were conducting maintenance work on the fifth floor using a skylift.
“At the time of the incident, heavy rain was reported and all victims were aged between 38 and 46,” he said.
Police have found no evidence of criminal elements at the scene and have classified the case as sudden death.
“The bodies have been sent to the Forensic Department for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death,” Wan Azlan said.
He also urged the public to refrain from speculation that could cause unnecessary concern and called on anyone with information to assist the investigation. – March 17, 2026
