THE price of RON97 petrol dropped 20 sen to RM4.65 per litre, unsubsidised RON95 by 15 sen to RM3.92, and diesel in Peninsular Malaysia dropped 10 sen to RM4.87.

RON95 sold under the BUDI95 scheme will continue to cost RM1.99 per litre while diesel in East Malaysia remains fixed at RM2.15 per litre.

The Ministry of Finance, in a statement, said the government will continue a prudent approach to shield consumers from price swings while ensuring a stable supply nationwide.

MOF said that conditions remain fragile, with Brent crude prices still about US$100 per barrel, more than 50% above pre-conflict levels of US$60 to US$70. – May 27, 2026
