A 24-YEAR-OLD motorcyclist was killed in a high-speed collision after a car rammed into him along the Sungai Besi–Ulu Kelang Elevated Expressway (SUKE), in an incident that has since gone viral on social media, police said.
Kajang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof said the crash occurred at 5.56pm yesterday at kilometre 0.3 of the expressway.
“Preliminary investigations found the car, travelling from Kajang, was driven at high speed as it entered the slip road towards Ampang. It overtook a vehicle ahead before colliding with a motorcycle travelling on the right side of the road,” he said in a statement.
He added that the impact caused the victim, who worked as a mechanic, to sustain severe head injuries and a severed left arm.
“He was pronounced dead at the scene,” he said.
The driver of the car, a 26-year-old e-hailing driver, was detained to assist investigations before being released on police bail today.
Naazron urged members of the public with information about the incident to come forward and assist investigators.
“Road users are advised to drive prudently, obey traffic laws and remain cautious at all times,” he added.
The incident gained widespread attention after a 1 minute 18 second dashcam recording circulated widely on Facebook and WhatsApp.
The footage, believed to be captured from a passing vehicle, appears to show the motorcyclist riding on the right side of the expressway while overtaking a red car, before another vehicle speeds past and collides with him.
In the video, the rider is thrown onto the bonnet of the car before being flung onto the road, where he is seen lying motionless as the vehicle involved continues driving away. – March 22, 2026
