Global Jamaican dancehall icons Vybz Kartel and Popcaan hit the unfollow button on each other on Instagram, marking a clear division in their friendship. The tension reportedly escalated after Popcaan publicly advised Kartel to stop smoking, which did not sit well with the self acclaimed “World boss.”
In response to this unsolicited advice, Kartel shared a pointed message on social media, implying, “Can’t take advice from someone who can’t advise his own girl.”
This comment suggests that Popcaan’s words fell flat like a balloon losing air, illustrating the friction between them.
Turning the spotlight on Kartel’s personal struggles, it’s worth noting that despite the smoking allegations, he acknowledged a decrease in his alcohol and smoking habits during an interview last year.
Additionally, he is coping with Graves’ disease, a chronic health condition that weighs heavily on his shoulders, further complicating the situation.
Under the ‘Gaza’ label, Kartel and Popcaan took the world by storm in 2010 with their chart-topping song ‘Clarkes.’
