Dub Inc at the Rockhal

Iconic French Reggae band Dub Inc is coming to the Rockhal in Esch-sur-Alzette for a live performance. A play on morality and the power of ideas

In Elizabeth Costello. Seven Lectures and Five Moral Tales, acclaimed theatre and opera director Krzysztof Warlikowski places Nobel-winning author J.M.Coetzee’s fictional protagonist and artistic alter ego Elizabeth Costello at the centre of a visually striking production, blending theatre, philosophy and video imagery to explore the many layers of her existence. A play on literature, morality and the enduring power of ideas that continues to resonate long after the curtain drops. Note: the play is in Polish, with French and English supertitles.

I Swear screening

Kirk Jones’ award-winning film I Swear is being shown in Luxembourg for the Luxembourg Film Festival. Follow the true story of Scotsman John Davidson after his Tourette syndrome diagnosis in the 1980s – a time where the condition was still vastly misunderstood. Read our review here. Note: bring tissues. If you’re missing out on this one, make sure to catch one of the many incredible films shown during the festival before it ends on 15 March.

Immersive Pavilion in three locations

The Immersive Pavilion is back to enchant XR and VR amateurs and professionals. Experience imaginative and ground-breaking projects centred around social issues, innovation and poetic explorations in virtual and augmented reality. Expect virtual, augmented and mixed reality works as well as sonic installations where dreams meet technology.

Expo on humanitarian crisis and work

Médecins Sans Frontières Luxembourg has been around for 40 years and is marking the anniversary with an exhibition that invites Luxembourg residents into the heart of humanitarian crises around the world. “La Grande Expo” is about showing what it is like to respond to global and local emergencies and to step up with solidarity in a concrete way. The exhibition will give visitors an insight into the everyday life of MSF’s teams on the ground, whether they are organising treatment for victims of epidemics or providing access to medicine.

Simon Fujiwara exhibition launch

Luxembourg’s modern art museum is opening its doors to a new exhibition, Simon Fujiwara: A Whole New World. The expo covers nearly two decades of the British-Japanese artist’s career and transforms the museum into an immersive space inspired by theme parks.

Living in Luxembourg

How to get involved in Luxembourg life

Want to be more involved in Luxembourg? Come down to the European Convention Center in Kirchberg for an orientation day dedicated to the matter. With more than 50 stands to visit, you will be able to meet representatives from cultural, political and citizens’ organisations as well as ministries to get practical information and workshops on living in Luxembourg and being an involved player in the country’s political and volunteer landscapes. A speech by Family Minister Max Hahn is also planned.

A Caribbean Carnival

No need to leave Luxembourg to travel to the other side of the world. Attend the Caribbean Carnival organised by the Luxembourg Caribbean Carnival Association over the weekend. Supported by the ministry of culture, this two-day event will bring together a costume party, a costume building workshop, delicious foods and dancing. There will also be a steelpan concert and workshop. Note: every ticket comes with a drink and every guest will receive a special memento of the celebrations.
