Europe may or may not be leading the world of sustainable investment at the moment (it depends who you ask). But it certainly has the potential to do so, according to guests at the Luxembourg Times sustainable finance event on Wednesday.
Looking at the wider field of sustainability, many guests felt that although recent United Nations climate change summits have not heralded much progress, COP30 in Brazil in November is still a vital tool for our shared future.
Overall, sustainable finance is central to sustainable development, and Europe and Luxembourg are well-positioned to participate and to benefit, guests said – especially if they can break with convention by prioritising innovation over regulation.
The sustainable finance event marked the release of the Luxembourg Times magazine’s autumn edition, dedicated to the topic of sustainability.
