Luxembourg’s government council has nominated Pascale Toussing to become a director at the country’s financial regulator, the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF).
The government council said it had nominated Toussing, the former head of the country’s tax office, to sit as a director on the CSSF board following a meeting on Friday.
In 2023, it was reported that the government had refused to renew her mandate as head of the the Administration des Contributions Directes (ACD) because she had failed to drive forward the modernisation of the service amid delays and slow recruitment. However, just months after she stepped down she was hired by the finance ministry to advise on future reforms.
The five-year term of one of the five current directors on the board of the CSSF, Françoise Kauthen, is due to end on Wednesday 21 January.
