Prices that motorists pay at the pump have now increased eight times since the US and Israel started their bombing campaign against Iran and Tehran launched retaliatory strikes on 28 February.
On Saturday, the cost of 98 octane petrol will rise by €0.079 per litre to €1.779 per litre, including VAT, Luxembourg’s economy ministry said in a press release on Friday evening.

The price of 98 octane petrol previously went up on 5 March and 10 March.
The cost of other types of petrol, diesel and home heating oil will not increase again on Saturday, but have risen several times already over the past fortnight.
The price of 95 octane petrol rose on 3 March, 4 March, 7 March and 11 March, while the cost of diesel was hiked four times between 3 March and 11 March, although it dropped on 13 March.
Home heating fuel prices have increased on three separate occasion since 3 March, but decreased slightly on 13 March.
Luxembourg joins international oil release as prices climb
The cost of fuel at service stations are effectively the same across the Grand Duchy, because the maximum price is set by government decree and service stations generally do not offer discounts.
