The Luxembourg district of Grund was awash with bright yellow on Saturday, thanks to the 25th edition of the popular Duck Race. Thousands turned out to Neimënster Abbey and Rue Munster from midday.
The highlight of the day was the start of the traditional duck race at 15:00. 20,000 yellow rubber ducks raced each other down the Alzette river – each duck bearing a numbered ticket that could be bought for €5. Backers of the fastest ducks were rewarded with attractive prizes provided by sponsors. This year’s top prize was a brand-new car.
