Delhaize Luxembourg has begun installing Mondial Relay parcel lockers at nine of its supermarkets, giving shoppers the option to pick up or drop off parcels during their grocery trips.
The first locations, which were inaugurated last week, include Walferdange, Junglinster, Schengen, Strassen, Gasperich and Hollerich, with Bertrange, Alzingen and Belair to follow in the coming weeks.
Outdoor lockers are accessible 24 hours a day, while indoor units are available during store opening hours. Customers can retrieve parcels via a code or QR code.

The rollout comes amid continued growth in Luxembourg’s online shopping sector. More than 19 million parcels were sent or delivered in Luxembourg in 2024, up over 5% from the previous year, according to Institut Luxembourgeois de Régulation (ILR) data. Over 80% of residents shop online.
Mondial Relay is operated by InPost, a Luxembourg‑headquartered company with primary operations in Poland and other European countries.
In early 2026, a consortium led by FedEx and private equity firm Advent International, together with InPost founder Rafał Brzoska and Czech investor PPF Group, agreed on a €7.8 billion conditional all‑cash offer for InPost.
Delhaize’s initiative adds to a competitive landscape of parcel‑delivery solutions. National postal service Post operates PackUp stations and staffed service points all over the country for parcel pickup and returns, while DPD and GLS offer ParcelShops and lockers in Luxembourg and neighbouring countries.
Other carriers, including Colis Privé, provide home delivery and pickup services for e‑commerce shipments across the region.

These alternatives help residents avoid missed home deliveries and long queues at post offices, particularly during peak periods. However, consumer feedback on automated lockers is mixed.
On Reddit, some users resident in Luxembourg report technical difficulties and limited availability with Mondial Relay machines. “Every time I scan the barcode, it gets recognized but doesn’t appear on the screen. It doesn’t let me proceed,” one user wrote.
“The lockers around Kirchberg regularly show as full or out of service, which forces me to drive to a shop 20km away just to send a Vinted parcel,” another person said.
On the Mondial Relay website, 33 pickup locations are listed in the country as of March.
In a press release, Delhaize Luxembourg said the current installation phase is only the beginning, and that the supermarket chain plans to equip most of its stores nationwide with parcel lockers, aiming to provide flexible pickup and drop‑off options for residents throughout the Grand Duchy.
“We are happy to offer this new service to our customers,” said Nicolas Gueuzurian, country director of Delhaize Luxembourg. “It represents a real improvement for their in‑store experience and fits naturally into their shopping habits.”
