David Walliams paid a visit to St George’s International School in Luxembourg on Thursday as part of a tour promoting his latest book.
Walliams made his name as a comedian and actor, most notably on the Little Britain television programme, but has gone on to become a best-selling children’s author, selling over 60 million copies worldwide.
His first public visit to Luxembourg came as the author promotes his latest book, Santa & Son – his 44th published work – which came out in October. His bestsellers include Gangsta Granny, Mr Stink and the World’s Worst series.
At St George’s, Walliams hosted an interactive show for students, sharing stories from his life and the creative process behind his books. He also offered practical writing tips, encouraging children to start with topics they love and embrace “crazy, silly ideas” – often the secret to great children’s stories, a press release from the school said.

The author signed copies of Santa & Son and toured the school, chatting with pupils about their studies. The event concluded with a Q&A and photo opportunities for students and staff, the school said.
The day was “a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” according to Gillian McLeod, St George’s librarian, who organised the visit. “David Walliams’ books are among the most popular in our library,” she said.
Walliams’ works have been translated into 55 languages, cementing his status as one of the world’s most successful children’s writers.
