The Chairman of the Tripoli Chamber of Commerce, Anwar Bousta, received the Chargé d’affaires and Deputy Ambassador of Germany to Libya, Daniel Schemsky, at the Chamber’s Tripoli headquarters yesterday. The Chamber’s Board members Essam Al-Jahani and Saad Al-Dhawi were also present.

The meeting aimed to strengthen economic cooperation and develop relations between the two countries.

Discussions focused on areas of cooperation in several vital sectors and ways to support and revitalize economic and trade relations, thereby opening new horizons for the private sector in both countries.

To this end, the meeting reviewed preparations for the upcoming Libyan-German Economic Forum, scheduled for May. The importance of this event in enhancing partnership opportunities and communication between investors, and supporting the entry of German companies into the Libyan market, was emphasized.

Elevating the role of the private sector
Discussions centred on the importance of coordinating efforts to elevate the role of the private sector, as a fundamental pillar for driving sustainable economic growth, strengthening long-term partnerships, and encouraging foreign investment, particularly from Germany.

Expanding international relations
Tripoli Chamber said the meeting comes as part of its commitment to expanding its international relations and strengthening its role in supporting the business environment and attracting investments, in a way that serves the national economy.
