Tobruk – The Tobruk Municipal Council has issued an urgent appeal to Libyan Prime Minister Osama Hamad and to Belkacem Haftar, Director General of the Fund for the Development and Reconstruction of Libya, urging immediate action to address ongoing electricity and water crises in the city.

In a statement released late Friday, the council said the electricity crisis has had a direct and dangerous impact on residents’ daily lives, as well as on the operation of public facilities. The statement stressed that health centers, which are essential to public safety, are particularly affected.

The council also noted that the electricity shortages coincide with a drinking water crisis, which has led to higher prices for water delivery trucks and placed additional burdens on families already struggling with difficult conditions.

The Tobruk Municipal Council called on all relevant authorities to take urgent responsibility and to find rapid, comprehensive solutions to the electricity and water emergencies.
