Benghazi – The Marriage Support Fund held a celebration for Arab Family Day on Sunday. The event’s theme was “Guidance Unites Us, Awareness Protects Us.”
Attendees included National Security Advisor General Abdul-Razzaq Al-Nadhouri. The head of the Anti-Corruption Authority, Ajdid Maatouq Ajdid, also attended. The Fund’s Director-General, Mohammed Ibrahim, and a Ministry of Youth representative were present. Several specialists on family affairs also participated.
National Security Advisor Al-Nadhouri emphasized the family’s strategic importance. He called it the cornerstone of national security. He noted that societal stability begins within the family. He stated that focusing on its educational and social aspects is a national necessity. This protects Libya from ideological and behavioral challenges targeting youth.
General Al-Nadhouri explained that national security is not limited to borders or defense policies. It also includes protecting society from within. This is achieved by strengthening values of awareness and preserving the family structure. The family is the first line of defense for the state’s identity and social cohesion.
The event included religious and national segments, along with official speeches. The speakers discussed the importance of family awareness and social guidance in facing challenges. They focused on supporting initiatives that promote moral and educational values.
Experts and specialists also presented research papers and instructional lectures. These focused on the role of family awareness in building a cohesive society. They also discussed ways to empower Libyan families to face economic and cultural changes. Additional topics included modern parenting skills and promoting dialogue within the family.
The Fund’s Director-General, Mohammed Ibrahim, stated the event is part of a strategy. It aims to spread a culture of family guidance and increase community awareness. He noted the fund is developing ongoing awareness programs for engaged youth and newlyweds. The fund collaborates with official organizations to support the Libyan family. This empowers them to protect youth and strengthen social security.
