The Libyan Industry Union’s (LIU) Second Annual Forum 2026 was held on 27 January at the Industrial Research Centre, Tajura, Tripoli under the banner: “We Meet to Compete”.

The forum brought together leading industrialists, factory and company managers, members of the LIU, representatives from local and international banks and insurance companies, and government agencies related to the industrial sector.

The LIU said the forum represents a key milestone in strengthening B2B partnerships and opening new channels of cooperation between the industrial sector and the financial and insurance sectors.

The event discussed:

– Prospects for industrial financing and the role of insurance in guaranteeing financing.

– The most prominent practical challenges facing Libyan factories.

– Launch of several new programmes and initiatives for 2026.

Ali Nuseer, the LIU’s General Manager, said the event reviewed the achievements and projects of 2025, as well as the presentation of its work plan for 2026. Some of the problems and difficulties facing the industrial sector were also discussed.

The mechanism of obtaining external financing and its guarantees were also reviewed in some detail.

At the end of the event, a partnership agreement was signed between the LIU and Libya Insurance Company.
