Sirte – The Sirte Economic Forum for Businessmen (Libya 2026) concluded Sunday at the Presidential Conference Palace in Sirte. The event was organized by the National Development Agency in cooperation with the General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture. It brought together local and international business leaders, investors, economic officials, and decision-makers.

The forum featured dialogue sessions and specialized discussions on improving the investment climate, strengthening the role of the private sector in development, and advancing the local economy. Participants also discussed digital transformation and the impact of new legislation on business operations and procedures.

The agenda included four sessions covering the private sector’s support for strategic projects, building a sustainable economy, and fostering skills and human capital. Attendees shared investor experiences and addressed challenges facing Libya’s business environment.

Mahmoud Al-Farjani, Director General of the National Development Agency, highlighted the importance of public-private partnerships to achieve sustainable development and diversify Libya’s sources of income. He pointed to Sirte’s economic and logistical advantages and its role in promoting investment.

The forum concluded with recommendations to improve the investment environment, strengthen public-private collaboration, modernize legal frameworks, support digital transformation, and cultivate national expertise to help drive Libya’s reconstruction and development.
