Benghazi – The Libyan Government’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized its third Political Salon. It was held in Benghazi. The event was part of its Ramadan activity programs. A group of diplomats, academics, and intellectuals attended.
Ali Ramadan, a member of the Foreign Ministry’s Consultants Office, moderated the session. Dr. Faisal Al-Ghaithi also moderated. Several research papers were presented. These papers discussed the role of media and society in the national reconciliation project.
Dr. Mohammed Al-Manfi, Dean of the Faculty of Media at Benghazi University, presented a paper. It focused on the media’s role in reconciliation. The writer Mohammed Al-Suwaysi presented a paper. Dr. Ibrahim Al-Warfali presented another paper. Both related to the subject.
Dr. Abdul Hafiz Al-Tajouri spoke to Al-Anbaa Al-Libya newspaper. He is the Head of the Foreign Ministry’s Consultants Office. He stated that the Foreign Ministry’s salon continues throughout Ramadan. Today’s seminar was titled ‘National Reconciliation and its Role in Ending Division and Building the State.’
Al-Tajouri added that discussing this issue now aligns with the Ministry’s commitment to community dialogue. It also responds to the Prime Minister’s recent statement. He noted the Ministry has traveled nationwide. This was done to convey this message. He affirmed that all findings from the discussions will be documented. These will be included in the recommendations. These recommendations will be submitted to relevant national reconciliation authorities.
