Tripoli’s Mitiga International Airport’s management received a delegation from the Malta Civil Aviation Authority’s Aviation Security Department yesterday, accompanied by the Director of the Aviation Security Office at the Libyan Civil Aviation Authority.

The visit was an audit aimed at reviewing and developing security and operational procedures at the airport.

The delegation was received by the airport’s Director General, the Director of Airport Security, a representative from the Airports Authority, and several security officials working at the airport.

The visit included:

A coordination meeting: Reviewing current work mechanisms, preventative measures, and compliance files with international aviation security standards.

A field tour: Inspecting key airport facilities to observe operations and the services provided to passengers.

Absurd EU flight ban
It will be recalled that despite the existence of flights from Libya to Tunisia, Malta, Egypt, Greece, Italy (Rome and Milan), Germany and Syria, the EU still persists in imposing a flight ban on Libya.
