Tripoli – Hatif Libya has announced the start of implementing a plan for the gradual shutdown of traditional telecommunication exchanges, as part of efforts to develop the telecommunications sector and build a modern and sustainable infrastructure.
In a post on its official page on Sunday, the company explained that the plan aims to end the era of outdated technologies and support the transition to a modern telecommunications system that meets the needs of citizens and the business sector, in preparation for transferring fixed-line telephone services to Libya Telecom & Technology (LTT) according to the latest technical standards.
The company added that the first phase included the shutdown of 70 telephone exchanges, assuring ADSL service subscribers that this measure will not affect their current services, with projects to provide FTTx fiber optic services to be completed in the upcoming phases.
