Al-Sayeh discusses with the Ambassador of Canada the Commission’s readiness to implement the 2025 elections

Tripoli – The Chairman of the Board of the High National Elections Commission, Emad Al-Sayeh, received the Ambassador of Canada to Libya, Alison Stewart, in the presence of Commission board member Rabab Halab, at the headquarters of the Commission’s Board in Tripoli.

According to the Commission’s media office, the meeting addressed the latest developments in the electoral process in Libya, particularly the municipal council elections (the third group) for the year 2025. Al-Sayeh reviewed the level of technical and logistical readiness the Commission has reached to implement these elections according to approved professional standards and on their scheduled dates.

For her part, Ambassador Stewart expressed her appreciation for the efforts made by the Commission to implement the electoral entitlements, praising the level of organization and professionalism that characterized the stages of the ongoing process. She affirmed the continued support of the Canadian government for the electoral path in Libya, stressing the importance of the partnership with the Commission in strengthening the democratic path.
