Benghazi – The Al-Madar Telecommunications team was crowned champion of the fifth edition of the Public Institutions Football League, after defeating the Customs Authority team in the final match held at the Martyrs of Bu Hadima Stadium on Monday evening.
The match witnessed a strong competition that ended with Al-Madar’s victory in a penalty shootout, during a ceremony organized by the General Syndicate of Administrators with the participation of several teams representing government sectors.
In a statement to a “WAL” correspondent, the Head of the General Syndicate of Administrators and Chairman of the tournament’s organizing committee, Salem Al-Sharaa, said that the Al-Madar team deserved the title after its outstanding performance throughout the tournament, praising the participation of all teams in the fifth edition.
For his part, the Head of the Media Department at Al-Madar Company, Mohammed Al-Zawawi, expressed his happiness with the team’s victory, noting that the squad included employees of the company from all Libyan cities and was well-prepared technically and physically. He also praised the organizing committee’s role in the success of the tournament, which provides a space for recreation and sports for employees of government institutions.
It is worth noting that the tournament began approximately two weeks ago and was hosted at the Martyrs of Bu Hadima Stadium for five-a-side football, under the supervision of the General Syndicate of Administrators, with broad participation from government institutions.
