The National Oil Corporation (NOC) announced today that Akakus Oil Operations have successfully completed the drilling and commissioning of injection well I-30INC186. This, the NOC explained, will significantly enhance reservoir pressure in the advanced exploration well I-NC186, where 6,000 discs were drilled daily.
The NOC said that as a result of intensive efforts and meticulous reservoir analysis, optimal well locations were selected, ensuring high reservoir pressure re-engineering efficiency and improved production performance.
Supports the reactivation of several other wells
This success also supports the reactivation of several wells that mitigate pressure decline, whose capacity was already estimated at 4,000 barrels per day, the highest expected production since the field began operations in 2008.
The NOC said tis presented an opportune moment to apply the company’s expertise in managing reservoirs with new and complex characteristics and innovative technologies for specialized oil production.
It reflects a commitment to preserving reservoir assets, adhering to best engineering and technical practices, and maximizing recovery.
This commitment enables sustainable production through pioneering scientific research, including supporting the national oil sector with specialized tools for the long term, in part for the development and production enhancement plans of the NOC.
