Liberia: House Expels Rep. Yekeh Kolubah Amid Dispute Over Court Order

Monrovia — The House of Representatives has voted to expel Montserrado County District 10 Representative , securing the 49 signatures required under the Constitution to remove a sitting lawmaker.

By Selma Lomax

The decision comes amid controversy surrounding a prohibition issued by the court Thursday, which had urged the House to place a hold on any investigation involving Rep. Kolubah. Lawmakers, however, proceeded with the process and carried out the expulsion vote.

Amid the dispute, the Deputy Chief Clerk of the House of Representatives stated that she has not received any notice of prohibition from the Court, raising questions about whether the legislative body was formally served before taking action.
