Revenue Services Lesotho (RSL) successfully concluded a two-day media training workshop on Effective Economic Reporting for journalists from various media houses. The training took place at the RSL Academy from September 16 to 17, 2025.

The workshop is part of RSL’s ongoing commitment to strengthening business and financial journalism in Lesotho. Over the two days, journalists engaged with experts on national economic policies, the structure of Lesotho’s economy, and essential tax education. Participants gained practical insights to enhance their reporting on economic and financial matters.

In his opening remarks, RSL’s Head of Marketing and Client Education, Mr. Letsatsi Sepiriti, highlighted the importance of an informed media. “An informed media is crucial for an informed public. It promotes transparency, accountability, and compliance, which are the bedrocks of our nation’s development,” he said.

The sessions were highly interactive, offering journalists practical tools to improve the accuracy and depth of their economic reporting. Participants had opportunities to discuss real-world examples, analyze economic data, and explore strategies for conveying complex financial information clearly to the public.

RSL extended its appreciation to all journalists who participated, noting that their work plays a key role in ensuring citizens understand national economic policies, tax requirements, and business developments. The initiative reinforces the agency’s vision of promoting transparency and accountability through informed media coverage.

By equipping journalists with knowledge and skills in economic reporting, RSL aims to support both media excellence and broader public awareness, contributing to Lesotho’s economic development and governance.
