Maseru, Aug. 26 — A first witness in a murder case in which an elderly woman was killed for allegedly being a witch, has on Tuesday testified that the accused confessed to her that he slaughtered the deceased.
Bokang ‘Molaoa informed the court that on March 17 2016, Mpho Teetsa, who was his boyfriend at that time, told him that he used a gun to break a window into the old woman’s house. She indicated that he added that he instructed the deceased to tie up her hands and feet.
She said he told her that when she refused to tie herself up, he did it himself at gun point and put a cloth inside her mouth before he slaughtered her using a knife.
The witness further testified that the accused also told her that he was yet to kill the daughter and husband of the deceased. She added that he threatened to kill her if the information was to be known because he would be certain that she was responsible for its leakage.
