The Moscow region came under one of its largest drone attacks in recent months during the night of Monday, the 20th of July, according to Dialog.ua, citing Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin and OSINT analysts.
Russian authorities reported an attack involving more than 400 drones, with fires and damage to infrastructure reported in several towns across the Moscow region.
According to Sobyanin, Russian air defence systems began repelling the attack at 2:53 a.m., and by 6:30 a.m. more than 400 drones had been intercepted, including 85 that were shot down while approaching Moscow. The mayor reported only the number of drones intercepted and did not specify the locations where they were destroyed.
Meanwhile, local Telegram channels and open-source intelligence (OSINT) analysts reported fires at one of Wildberries’ largest logistics centres in Koledino, located in the Podolsk district. Videos published online appear to show at least two major fires and thick black smoke rising over the area. Wildberries stated that the logistics centre itself had not been damaged and that all employees had been evacuated as a precaution.
A fire also broke out at an oil depot in the Lvovskyi district, south of Podolsk.
Analysis of videos published by several OSINT sources indicates that at least five separate fires were recorded, including a large blaze at the Yuzhnye Vorota industrial park in the Domodedovo district. The logistics complex covers more than 650,000 square metres.
Russian media also reported that a drone struck a multi-storey residential building in Domodedovo, with footage of the impact circulating online. According to Russian authorities, several districts in the Moscow region reported casualties and damage to civilian infrastructure.
Following the attack in Domodedovo, six people were hospitalised, while the fire at the industrial park was later brought under control.
The Yuzhnye Vorota logistics complex hosts major tenants including Wildberries, Lemana Pro and Alibaba Group.
According to Dialog.ua, an additional noteworthy detail is that since the beginning of 2026, the industrial park has been managed by the Talent and Success Foundation, established by cellist Sergei Roldugin, who is widely regarded as a close associate of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The foundation’s board of trustees is chaired by Putin himself.
