Almaz Dzhunusov from Kyrgyzstan won two gold medals in traditional archery at the VI World Nomad Games. The competitions were held in two formats, under Kyrgyz and Turkish rules.
A total of 211 athletes from 51 countries participated in the competition held under Kyrgyz rules. Almaz Dzhunusov won the gold medal in the men’s event. Another representative of Kyrgyzstan, Nursultan Emilbek Uulu, took second place, while Laszlo Koczka from Hungary won bronze.
In the women’s category, Asemgul Galymzhanova and Aikorkem Batikhkan from Kazakhstan took first and second places, respectively. Klara Spiridonova, a member of the Russian national team, won bronze.
Dzhunusov was also the winner under the Turkish rules, taking the top spot on the podium for his second gold medal. Mongolia’s Ganzorig Bat-Erdene finished second, while Kazakhstan’s Ali Sesiguzel took third.
Ayash Kabdollaeva from Kazakhstan won the women’s event, with Asel Sadyrova from Kyrgyzstan finishing second and Russia’s Klara Spiridonova taking third place.
The winners and top finishers were awarded cash prizes.
