Suspect detained in Batken for large-scale livestock fraud
AKIPRESS.COM – A case of fraud involving a large sum of money was registered in the city of Batken, and a suspect has been detained, the police reported.
On April 19, 2025, a 33-year-old resident of the city, S. U., filed a complaint with the Batken City Police Department.
“According to the applicant, at the livestock market in Batken city, he agreed with a 22-year-old resident of Kadamjay district, T.U., to sell one cow with a calf for 115,000 soms. An advance payment of 10,000 soms was given, and the remaining 105,000 soms were promised within a week. However, the money has not been returned to date.”
This fact was registered and a criminal case was initiated under Article 209 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic (“Fraud”).
“During operational search activities carried out by city police officers, the suspect, T.U., was detained,” the report states.
Investigative actions are ongoing.
