Sixth political consultations held between Mongolia and Belarus

AKIPRESS.COM – The sixth political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus were held in Minsk on September 15, Montsame reported.

The two sides exchanged views on the current state of Mongolia-Belarus relations and cooperation, upcoming visits and events, and priority areas of cooperation.

The parties reaffirmed their interest in expanding and developing cooperation in the political, trade, agriculture, industry, education, culture, sports, and healthcare sectors.

In particular, they agreed that favorable conditions are emerging to give greater economic substance to bilateral relations and elevate trade, investment and business cooperation to a new level under the Interim Trade Agreement between Mongolia and the Eurasian Economic Union, which entered into force on July 22.

The sides also discussed cooperation between the two countries within the framework of the United Nations and other international organizations and exchanged views on certain international issues.

The consultations were co-chaired by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Amartuvshin Gombosuren and First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Sergey Lukashevich.
