A meeting of the operational headquarters for the implementation of the plan for repatriating citizens of Kyrgyzstan from the Middle East was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).
According to the MFA’s press service, government officials discussed issues of ensuring operational cooperation in the event of deterioration of the situation in the Middle East. Particular attention was paid to the practical aspects of ensuring safety of vulnerable citizens staying in armed conflict zones, as well as the development of a unified mechanism for registering Kyrgyzstanis traveling abroad.
The need for further improvement of coordination among all agencies involved was emphasized, and key areas for implementing the plan were identified.
An interdepartmental operational headquarters for coordinating actions aimed at protecting Kyrgyzstanis in connection with the escalating situation in the Middle East was established by order of the head of the ministry.
