Joint initiatives must yield concrete results, enhance the well-being of our peoples, and foster unity among our states, the President of Belarus stated at the SCO Summit in Bishkek.
«Regular contact between our relevant agencies has been established. And we hope that the quantity of meetings will translate into quality and lead to the launch of large-scale practical initiatives,» Alexander Lukashenko was quoted as saying by Pul Pervogo.
The Belarusian leader also emphasized that he firmly supports the prompt establishment of the SCO Development Bank «to add additional stability to our economic ties and strengthen the region’s financial sovereignty.»
He welcomed measures to increase the share of national currencies in mutual settlements to build resilience of the monetary systems of SCO countries against global challenges.
According to Lukashenko, the rapid development of information technology has added a new digital dimension to the familiar system of coordinates. Belarus advocates the swift creation of a unified, open and secure digital space within the organisation.
