Kazakhstan braces for extreme heat up to +48C and high fire risk, Kazhydromet warns

AKIPRESS.COM – Kazhydromet issued a severe weather warning on July 18, stating that critical weather conditions will persist across Kazakhstan over the coming days.

Air temperatures in the southern and southeastern regions of the country are projected to reach scorching highs between +45°C and +48°C, while Almaty will experience intense heat ranging from +40°C to +42°C.

Alongside the blistering temperatures, a high to extreme fire hazard remains active in several regions, significantly increasing the risk of wildfires amid the arid and hot conditions.

Forecasters also predict dangerous atmospheric phenomena, including gusty winds reaching speeds of 15-20 meters per second, dust storms, thunderstorms, hail, and squalls.

Weather experts strongly advise citizens to take necessary precautions and closely monitor upcoming weather updates.
