AKIPRESS.COM – Starting from the new 2025 academic year, kindergartens will begin working under updated programs that cover children from one to five years old, the Ministry of Education said.

Kyrgyzstan will switch to 12-year school education system from 2025-2026. Children will go to grade 1 at 6 years, so preschool education will cover children from 1 to 5 years old.

Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Azamat Kadyraliev noted that reforms are being carried out in the education system, which focus on preschool education.

By 2030, it is planned to achieve preschool education coverage of at least 80% of children throughout the country.

New kindergartens are being built throughout the country, work is underway to increase the availability of kindergartens in the regions, and teachers’ working methods are being updated.
