Kuwait Municipality has identified 19,800 encroachment violations in private and model residential areas across the country’s six governorates as part of its nationwide “Kuwait is more beautiful without encroachments” campaign, with officials expecting the total to rise to around 45,000 once inspections are completed.
According to municipal sources, inspection teams have so far removed 1,960 violations, with about 80 percent cleared voluntarily by property owners before enforcement action was required.
The remaining cases were removed by municipal teams through compulsory measures, with 100 forced removals carried out over the past two days.
Authorities said inspection teams are currently recording an average of 1,500 violations per day, although the figure reached as many as 4,200 in a single day.
Between July 1 and 7, inspectors documented approximately 12,200 violations.
Officials noted that the most common violations involve the installation of “green fences” extending onto state property in front of residential homes, followed by the construction of permanent structures on public land.
The municipality said the campaign will continue across all governorates until inspections are completed, with the objective of restoring public spaces, removing illegal encroachments, and ensuring compliance with municipal regulations.
