Kuwait Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Youssef Saud Al-Sabah today received Pinarayi Vijayan, Chief Minister of Indian state of Kerala at Al Bayan Place in Kuwait today. The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation between Kuwait and Kerala across key sectors. Dr. Sabeeh Al-Mukhaizeem, Minister of Finance and Chairman of Kuwait Investment Authority was also present during the meeting.
Both sides highlighted the long-standing historical relations between India and Kuwait. Sheikh Fahad praised the invaluable contribution of the Indian community particularly from Kerala to Kuwait’s development and reaffirmed the government’s continued support for the expatriate population. Kerala Chief Minister Vijayan expressed his gratitude for Kuwait’s closeness towards Kerala community and presented Kerala as an investment friendly destination highlighting various opportunities in infrastructure, tourism, technology etc.
Kerala Chief Secretary Dr. Jayathilak IAS, Lulu Group Chairman Yusuff Ali MA and officials from the Indian embassy accompanied the Chief Minister during the meeting.
Later in the day, Chief Minister also met Sheikh Dr. Meshaal Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Director Board Member of Kuwait Investment Authority and Director-General of Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA). Sheikh Meshaal announced that a high level Kuwaiti delegation will visit Kerala soon to explore investment possibilities. The Chief Minister also held meeting with Khalifa Abdullah Dahi Al-Ajil Al-Askar, Minister of Trade and Industry and highlighted Kerala’s industrial potential and investor friendly policies.
