First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef, conducted an on-site inspection, Thursday, of the fuel tank fire at Kuwait International Airport to review ongoing firefighting operations and assess the measures taken to bring the incident under control.
According to a statement issued by the Kuwait Fire Force, the Minister was briefed in detail on the efforts of firefighting teams who responded from the earliest moments of the incident.
The fire, which broke out as a result of hostile attacks, was contained through coordinated emergency action aimed at preventing its spread to adjacent facilities, reports Al-Rai daily.
Authorities confirmed that the damage was limited to material losses, with no human casualties reported.
During the visit, Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef emphasized the importance of implementing all necessary preventive measures and strengthening coordination between relevant authorities to ensure the highest levels of safety at vital installations.
He also praised the high level of readiness and rapid response demonstrated by firefighting teams, commending their critical role in safeguarding lives and property.
The Minister further acknowledged the support provided by firefighting units from the Kuwait Army, the National Guard, and the Kuwait Oil Company, highlighting the importance of continued inter-agency cooperation to enhance emergency preparedness.
Upon arrival at the site, Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef was received by the KF Chief, Major General Talal Al-Roumi.
The visit underscored ongoing efforts to reinforce national readiness and ensure effective response mechanisms in dealing with emergency incidents affecting strategic infrastructure.
