The Kuwait National Petroleum Company has announced the opening of financial bids for a major project to construct, supply, install, complete, and operate 10 new fuel stations in the Al-Mutlaa area.
During the bid opening session, 14 local contracting companies were qualified to proceed to the final technical and financial evaluation stage. The submitted bids ranged between KD 13.98 million and KD 27.4 million.
The project involves the delivery of fully integrated and operational fuel stations, ready for immediate service upon completion, reports, Al-Rai daily.
This tender forms part of KNPC’s broader strategic plan to construct 100 new fuel stations across Kuwait, aligned with ongoing urban expansion and infrastructure development.
Under the plan, the stations are divided into five groups. So far, 18 stations from the first group have been completed and are operational, while the remaining stations will be implemented gradually over the next five years.
The new fuel stations will feature environmentally friendly designs, modern architecture, and advanced operational technologies aimed at improving efficiency and service quality.
In parallel, KNPC is also advancing plans to develop a new logistics and storage facility in Al-Mutlaa, which will include 11 storage tanks (seven for gasoline and four for liquefied gas), along with advanced pumping and loading systems.
The broader infrastructure plan also includes the construction of two 12-inch pipelines spanning 130 kilometers each for transporting gasoline (Octane 91 and 95), as well as a 45-kilometer, 14-inch pipeline for gas oil transport, further strengthening Kuwait’s fuel distribution network.
