Kenya Met Issues 5-Day Weather Forecast Highlighting Regions To Experience Rainfall, Including The Weekend

The Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) has issued a 5-day weather forecast as the weekend approaches. In its forecast published on Thursday, November 6, 2025, Kenya Met listed several regions expected to experience heavy rainfall, including during the weekend.

According to the weather forecast, rainfall is expected to continue in several parts of the country, most notably in the Highlands of East and West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Rift Valley, the Coast, the South-Eastern Lowlands, and North-Eastern Kenya. Isolated heavy rainfall events are also likely to occur in these regions.

In the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and the Rift Valley, the weatherman predicts a chance of rain in a few places in the mornings, except on Saturday, November 8, 2025, when sunny intervals are expected in the morning.

Kenya Met Issues 5-Day Weather Forecast

In the afternoons, showers and thunderstorms are expected in several places throughout the forecast period.

A chance of showers is expected in a few places within these regions at night.

Areas within these regions include the counties of Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, and West Pokot.

In the North-Western region, which includes the counties of Turkana and Samburu, KMD predicts that sunny intervals will dominate the mornings, except on Saturday, November 8, and Sunday, November 9, when a chance of rain is expected in a few places.

In the afternoons, Kenya Met predicts that sunny intervals are expected on Friday, November 7, followed by showers and thunderstorms in some areas on Saturday, November 8.

On Sunday, November 9, there will be a chance of light showers in some areas, while on Monday, November 10, it is expected to be mostly sunny. The forecast concludes with a chance of showers in a few places on Tuesday, November 11.

Partly cloudy nights are expected to prevail during the period, although a few days may experience a chance of showers in some areas.

Weather forecast for Nairobi and its Environs

In the Highlands East of the Rift Valley, which includes Nairobi and its environs, Kenya Met predicts rain in a few places from Saturday, November 8, 2025, to Monday, November 10, 2025, while cloudy mornings breaking into sunny intervals are expected on Friday, November 7, and Tuesday, November 11.

Showers are expected in a few places during the afternoons, with a chance of showers in a few places at night.
Other counties within these regions include Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, and Tharaka Nithi.

In the North-Eastern region, which includes the counties of Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, and Isiolo, rain in a few places is expected to dominate the mornings except on November 10 and 11, when sunny intervals are expected.

South- Eastern Lowlands

In the South-Eastern Lowlands, which include the counties of Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado, and Taita Taveta, as well as the inland parts of Tana River County, rain is expected in a few places during the forecast period.

Afternoons are expected to experience showers in a few places, while nights will also have a chance of showers in some areas.

In the Coast region, which includes the counties of Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kwale, as well as coastal parts of Tana River County, Kenya Met predicts a chance of showers in a few places in the mornings during the entire forecast period.

Showers are expected in a few places in the afternoons, while nights will be partly cloudy.
