In early Asian trading, South Korea’s KOSPI index plunged by 6.3% before recovering some losses. Meanwhile, Japan’s Nikkei 225 dropped by 4.3% to reach 51,088.30 points, according to the Novosti news agency.
Other major indices also saw significant losses:
Hang Seng (Hong Kong): Lost 2.8%, falling to 24,580.11 points.
Shanghai Composite: Declined by nearly 2% to reach 3,879.86 points.
This heightened tension was reflected in the MSCI Asia Pacific Index, which tumbled by more than 4%.
