The Russian company Atomash, a subsidiary of Rosatom, has developed a robotic spider designed to speed up inspections of nuclear power plants by up to three times compared to traditional methods.اضافة اعلان
This robot is used to examine weld seams in nuclear reactors and steam generators. Equipped with a new ultrasonic sensor, the robot can move across curved and inclined surfaces in areas that are difficult for humans to access due to radiation or confined spaces. These capabilities are particularly crucial when inspecting large and complex components of nuclear power plants, where even the smallest defect can have serious consequences.
The ultrasonic inspection system allows the robot to detect hidden flaws within the metal that would otherwise go unnoticed. Previously, this process was laborious and time-consuming; however, the new robot performs the task smoothly, accelerating work and improving measurement accuracy.
