The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) on Wednesday announced a set of performance indicators related to the Planning and Economic Development sector for 2025, reflecting a notable expansion in organized land areas, growth in professional and economic activities, and an increase in licensed construction areas within the city.اضافة اعلان

According to data released by the municipality, organized land areas account for about 48% of Amman’s total area, with the total organized land reaching approximately 340 square kilometers.

Figures also indicate that 3.9 square kilometers of land were brought under zoning regulations during 2025, marking a 1.15% increase compared with 2024.

The organized lands in the city are distributed across different uses, with residential areas representing the largest share at 75%, followed by mixed-use areas and parks at 11%, industrial areas at 8%, and commercial and office use areas at 6%.

In an indicator reflecting economic activity within the city, the data showed that the total number of professional and advertising licenses reached about 91,000 in 2025, representing a 13% increase compared with 2024.

Regarding license renewals, the municipality stated that 70% of professional and advertising licenses were renewed in 2025, while approximately 12,000 new licenses were issued during the year.

In the construction sector, the indicators revealed that the total licensed construction area in Amman reached approximately 5.7 million square meters in 2025, marking a 25% increase compared with 2024.

The number of work permits issued during the year reached about 9,600, while the number of construction permits issued stood at around 9,500, reflecting continued urban development activity across various areas of the capital.
